A model queer activist and poet, Jesus (Maximillian Davis) prides himself in his work with the Seattle LGBT community. At the same time, Jesus is having unprotected sex and cheating on his long-time partner Johnny (Samonte Cruz). Jesus’s world implodes when he discovers that he is HIV positive, forcing him to confront his innermost fears, his relationship with his ex-boyfriend, and a future living with HIV. Faced with the unknown, Jesus is pulled from the brink of self-destruction by Sister Alysa Trailer (Brian Peters), a drag nun who leads him down a path of self-discovery.
‘heart breaks open’ was written as a four page outline and transformed to a feature-length project through a collaborative filmmaking process. Actors used improvisational acting to create dialogue and action. Documentary filmmakers captured performances using cinema verité techniques. Seattle locations and their staff were used to create an undeniable meditative realism.

Joshua even thought she wouldn’t admit it to her girls it was love at first sight when she seen him. Joshua wasn’t like her boyfriend Todd. He was fine, clean cut, very laid back and totally into her. While Todd was a fast paced drug dealer who was always looking for a come up. Even though Lisa loved Todd, she didn’t think that he had plans to marry her so she slipped right into Joshua’s life, which was looking for the perfect relationship. As her love with Joshua grew stronger, her hustle with Todd got sloppy. Contrary Warrior tells the story of Adam Fortunate Eagle Nordwall who was born on the Red Lake Indian Reservation; his mother was Chippewa and his father a Swede. At the age of five, his father dead and his mother unable to provide for eight children, Adam and his siblings are sent to an Indian boarding school where he spends his childhood. His story is different from most who have spent time in Indian boarding schools. He considers those ten years a positive experience and a way, during the depression, of avoiding the overwhelming poverty, hunger and disease of living on a reservation. There he also learns many skills and disciplines that serve him well later in life.
At Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas he meets his future wife, Bobbie, and both move to Oklahoma City where he and Bobbie get married. They work at several odd jobs and eventually move to San Francisco where he becomes a successful businessman and the “perfect” urban Indian - a poster child for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Prejudices toward Indians in the Bay area motivates him to become an advocate for the rights of urban Indians. And thus begins his activism, which eventually leads to the Indian takeover of Alcatraz Island in 1969. Adam is one of the principal organizers and one of the main figures in negotiating with federal officials who are sent almost daily by President Nixon. After nineteen months Nixon signs –– papers repudiating the Indian Termination Act declaring it no longer valid. A series of reforms are implemented in urban areas and on reservations with improved health and welfare programs for American Indians.
But because of his activism, the government considers him an “enemy of the State,” and he loses his business and virtually everything he owns. Forced to move to the Paiute-Shoshone Reservation where his wife was born, he turns this negative experience into a positive one by honing his skills as a ceremonial pipe maker, sculptor, and author and continues his calling as a ceremonial leader and statesman for his people.
Contrary Warrior: The Life and Times of Adam Fortunate Eagle is the winner of the Audience Award at the 2011 Cine Las American International Film Festival in Austin, and awarded the Platinum Reel Award for Documentary at the Nevada Film Festival.

A heartfelt crime thriller, DELIVERED is an intimate tale of loss, betrayal, redemption and bittersweet revenge. In the spirit of films like BULLITT, VANISHING POINT and TRUE ROMANCE, this film is packed with twists and turns, a cool car and a couple on the run.
As a young vet, Shane returns home to a financially broken and widowed Mom and he is determined to get back her home which was lost to foreclosure while he was off fighting the war. After finding out that she is working two jobs to make ends meet, Shane promises that he will get their old house back. Reluctantly, he takes an armed courier job. Not really wanting to carry a gun, it is the only job he can find. Luckily, Mom saved Dad’s classic ‘67 Mustang which is the perfect vehicle for Shane to use for his job. It also provides an emotional connection to his Dad and is a great source of comfort.
After several routine deliveries, Shane’s boss sends him on a special assignment. On the way to pick up a large amount of cash which will ultimately be exchanged for a rare piece of art, Shane stops at a roadside diner for a bite. On the way back to his car, he sees a young woman being molested by a drunk trucker and intervenes, offering the beautiful girl a ride to the next town. Lonely for some female company, he decides to spend the night in a desert motel before leaving the next morning to finish his delivery. Duped by a drug crazed young Japanese man, Shane is forced to shoot the son of a murderous gangster in self defense. On the run and inadvertently entangled in an art theft ring, Shane and the girl seek refuge at the home of a friend. Now he must untangle a web of lies to discover his own truth.
Japanese gangsters, an Armenian art dealer, a retired proctologist and a beautiful young woman compliment a young vet in this well rounded ensemble cast of unique characters. Set in Los Angeles and the dusty desert towns of Mojave Desert, the backdrop of DELIVERED provides a fresh view of California that we rarely see in films.

Born in what is now South Dakota around 1831, Sitting Bull is given the name of Tatanka-Iyotanka (Sitting Bull). He distinguishes himself early in life, killing his first buffalo at ten and taking part in skirmishes at fourteen. He continues to excel in bravery, fortitude, generosity and wisdom. By the 1850s Native Americans begin to feel the pressure of white expansion into the western United States. Some tribes begin to resist. Although there have been many skirmishes and battles throughout the 1860s, there are also many attempts at peace. All of them fail. The discovery of gold in Indian sacred ground, the Black Hills, causes continued tension. Emissaries are sent on the pretext of bringing about a peaceful resolution yet the intent is to get Indians to sign worthless treaties and release more of their land.
In the summer of 1876, Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and a regiment of the Seventh Cavalry attack members of the Lakota Nation and other tribes along Montana’s Little Bighorn River. An estimated two thousand warriors defeat Custer, killing him and about two hundred fifty of his men. Sitting Bull does not take part in the fight but is there as spiritual leader. Shocked by this devastating defeat, the American people demand retribution. Now with even greater force and conviction, the U.S. government begins a relentless pursuit of the Indians in a concentrated effort to drive them into reservations. Sitting Bull and his followers flee to Canada, beyond the reach of the U. S. Army, where they are offered asylum by the Canadians. Sitting Bull remains defiant until the near starvation of his people forces him to return four years later and surrender. He is taken to Fort Randall where he is held as a prisoner of war for two years. Upon his release he is sent to Standing Rock Reservation where he is forced to work in the fields and denied any special privileges that a chief of his standing would normally be accorded.
In 1885, hoping that exposure to the white man’s world will “civilize” him, he is temporarily released from Standing Rock and allowed to perform in a tour of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. His travels and experiences in major eastern cities give him a new perspective. When Sitting Bull returns to Standing Rock, he begins to assert a degree of independence from the Indian agent in charge. Sitting Bull is no longer permitted to perform in any more shows. For a time, he settles into a quiet life with his family.
Hopeless and oppressed, many Indians on the reservation become followers of a Paiute holy man who started a movement called the Ghost Dance. The ritual is perceived as anti-white by the government and efforts are made to discourage reservation Indians from participating. Although Sitting Bull does not taken part, he does not discourage others from doing so. Fearing that he might incite rebellion, the Indian agent orders the Indian police to place Sitting Bull under arrest. On December 15, 1890, they break into Sitting Bull’s cabin. The chief’s followers intervene and a gunfight takes place. Sitting Bull is killed.
